Polo Ranger Boots vs... Polo Ranger Boots

photos by: Jessica N. Bell

There are many winter boots to choose from so to help you make your selection, Marcus and I did a mini shoot to display our preferred choices.

The Ralph Lauren Polo Ranger boots can be found in various stores including Macy's & Finishline or at online retailers such as David Z & Shoes.com for around $150. Make sure you look out for the discount codes to keep your money safe in your pockets.

Enjoy.

They Killin It: Quality Style from the Congo.

These amazing images have been catching my attention on other blogs and publications for weeks. This eye-catching book of photography by Daniele Tamagni provides fascinating insight on the vibrant street style of the "Sapeurs", immaculately dressed dandies from the heart of the Congo. They sport designer clothes and accessories by Pierre Cardin, Roberto Cavalli, Dior, Fendi, Gaultier, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Yohji Yamamoto and Gucci . Unlike other gangs who may dress in fine threads as well, there is no bloodshed here - the clothes do all the fighting for you, otherwise you do not deserve to be called a "Sapeur." The result is "a vibrant and unique style not seen anywhere else in the world." The book can now be found at various U.S. bookstores.

Life is all About the Details...A Dynastee Hand-Painted

I really don't like doing handpainteds as much as I used to due to their costliness in time, but here is one of the latest with the new dynastee logo...Check the steady hand!

A New Definition of Streetlights

It never hurts to try something new. The revolutionary guerilla marketing company, Lumina Motion, set up animated ads projecting on the buildings and streets of Santiago, Chile.

ARt: THE BIG APPLE

As an artist, I love when someone can take a concept to the next level.
Several designers were commissioned to represent the New York Big Apple as an art piece for a special auction organized by Tommy Hilfiger in New York. Christian Thiel designed a Big Apple, which incorporates all the most famous attractions of New York. Freedom Of Creation produced the art piece by means of 3D printing.

Loafers v. Cool Kicks

Gucci Loafers
Gucci Black Pebble Leather Horsebit Loafers

Christian Louboutin

Retro Jordans

Nike Terminator High Supreme sneakers ($220)

It's a classic coming of age debate... how to decide between the loafers or the cool kicks (Jordan's, Common Projects, Dunks, Vans, etc. found at stores such as Chicago's Succezz). I know it can be difficult for the early to mid-20's guy, so tread carefully.

I tend to choose the loafers 9/10 times. I really am a fiend for the Purple Label Ralph Lauren's or anything from the Gucci collection - partnered perfectly with a Dynastee tee. Here are some pics to help you begin making the transition to adulthood.

"Nothing looks more pathetic than an underdressed businessman negotiating the arctic blast. It’s some kind of prepster machismo that is entirely ridiculous, unhealthy and ruinous to footwear."

- Glenn O'Brien | GQ

I know it's getting cold outside, but we have you covered. In addition to our Knockin Boots entry, I wanted to introduce you all to some other boots to help you survive the winter - in a sophisticated manner of course.

The Peak Lapel Suit

The Peak Lapel Suit is an ever-classic fashion statement. Although it may not be suitable for every occasion, when properly executed, you'll prove to your peers (& foes) that you are the f*ckin man. Here are some quick tips to help you get started...

The Fit:
All Peak Lapel suits should be either tailored or selected for the appropriate fit. They should always be form fitting to avoid looking like outdated.

Two vs. Three: Always go for the two button suit, this helps maintain the correct shape.

When to Wear:
Peak Lapel suits should be worn primarily for elegant business & evening events. Source: GQ.com

Tom Ford Pablo Glasses... SICK.

Tom Ford has just unleashed his Pablo Aviator sunglasses. These glasses feature a unique twist, interchangeability. This allows owners to change the frame styling of their glasses at will.

They come in three different color variations: gold/ligh havana, shiny gunmetal/dark havana, and gold/shiny black. They originally retail for $550 from major department stores but we found them for better deals here & here.

Enjoy.

KNOCKIN BOOTS

Hmmm, starting to really feel the black boot thing, I was a former fan of the NIKE BOOTS, but now I'm feeling the motorcycle/edgy boot look... You could kill the look with a fresh black leather moto jacket to match!

What do you all think? Here are a few examples from a few retailers.

I LIKE! Gucci Gucci Gucci

Here's British DJ/Producer Mark Ronson hosting the launch of the first Gucci Icon-Temporary flash sneaker store in New York . Check him out in the exclusive Gucci boat shoe-sneakers for his footwear collection which is priced at ($590). The outfit is kinda hot in different way. They say the kicks limited, so I just might have to make that trip.
